Calcium Chloride Description:
Calcium chloride is an inorganic salt, which exists as solid or liquid.
Solid calcium chloride is a white, crystal substance in the form of flake,
granule, pellet or powder. With different crystallized water contents, it
can be dihydrate or anhydrous. Liquid calcium chloride is a colorless,
clear solution. As calcium chloride has such properties as quick
dissolving, exothermic ability, attracting moisture from the air and
surroundings, dissolving at very low temperature.

Calcium Chloride Application :1. They are widely used in highway, expressway, parking lot and port
to melting snow and ice.
2. Used as dryer, as anti-fog, and anti-dust agent also fireproof agent
3. Protective agent and refining agent for petroleum/oil field.
4. Pigment assistance agent of textile. It is a kind of raw material.
5. It acts as flocculation in water treatment.
6. Be used in waste paper processing as removing printing ink agent.
7. As anti-freezing agent.
8. As dehydration agent.
9. Food additive: as cryogen are used in ice cream, as stable
agent/coagulant used in bean products, drink and beer.

3-Chloro-2-hydroxy-N,N,N-trimethyl-1- propanaminium chloride CAS NO.3327-22-8

(3-Chloro-2-hydroxypropyl) Trimethyl ammonium chloride is a kind of cationic etherifying agent, belonging to quaternary ammonium salt, which is also an important organic synthesis intermediates. Molecular formula is C6H15NOCL2 and molecular weight is 188.1. Structural formula is the following:
China manufacturer Cationic reagent QUAT 188 |QUAB 188 |CHPTAC used in cationic starch

Under the normal temperature, this product is the aqueous solution with 69% active matter content and immediately transforms into epoxy structure in alkaline conditions. So it is widely used for cationic modification of starch, guar gum, cellulose and other material.

(3-Chloro-2-hydroxypropyl) Trimethyl ammonium chloride
Cationic reagent QUAT 188
cas no. 3327-22-8

2. Cationic Reagent USAGE

It is used for modified (etherifying) starch, cellulose and related compounds, then these products changed to be cationic materials.

In alkaline conditions, cationic reagent can react with hydroxyl of the material molecule. As cationic reagent is cationic product, so the material is cationic after reacting with cationic reagent

With cations, properties of adhesion, affinity to anionic substance, solubility of water –insoluble substances and solubility of water-insoluble will be obviously improved.

IV. .Scope of Application Cationic Reagent

Liquid of Cationic Etherifying Agent can be widely used in the following areas:

(1)      Papermaking Industry

As an important auxiliary agent, cationic etherifying agent is widely applied to starch, cellulose, and chitosan chemical modification. The cationic starch, which is etherification modified from raw starch, can be used as the paper's surface sizing agent, retention and filtration aid, enhancer and so on. It is a kind of papermaking additives with great dosage.

(2)      Textile Industry

The cotton fiber, which is modified by (3-Chloro-2-hydroxypropyl) trimethyl ammonium chloride, can enhance the dye’s cohesiveness. And cationic starch acquired by reacting to starch can be used as warp sizing agent.

(3)      Water Treatment Industry

The electronegative suspended solids of water can react with liquid CTA and get cationic macromolecule. As flocculant, it can be widely used in the purification of water

(4)      Daily Chemical Industry

The cationic guar gum and other chemicals, which are formed by CTA modification, are all important daily chemicals.
